As part of the Camden Better Homes Framework, we were awarded this project to provide external improvement works to the West End Lane hostel. Works began in June 2018. Once the scaffolding was erected, our team conducted asbestos surveys along with energy efficiency surveys that contributed to the final scoping of the works.
Our team renewed the flat roof coverings, roof slates and asphalt to complete the roofing including energy-efficient insulation. In addition, the guttering and associated pipework were replaced.
External works comprised of repainting the balustrades, repairing the defective brickwork, and repointing. Fascias, soffits, and bargeboards were repaired and restored to give a new fresh finish. External walls were prepared and painted with masonry paint.
The existing timber windows were carefully dismantled, repaired, overhauled and redecorated. This work was carefully managed by our on-site Resident Liaison Manager who ensured that access was available and that all removed windows were safely reinstated at the end of each day to give the minimum of disruption to the residents.
